I've always heard that jewelry has the quality of the eternal. It's normal to understand that something made of material is durable for years, but this quality overrides the nature of the material—it overrides the metal. This quality has to do with our ability to create connections.

While photographing an image, on the other hand, I capture the ephemeral, at least a part, of that moment. Again, we attribute to photography the quality of the eternal; with it, historical moments from the past can be seen by future generations. Again, connections.

So, I like the idea that the moment I create a piece, I capture it not merely as silhouettes and refractions but also as a part of who I was or where I used to be.
